Mature for its Years, Ravenwood Golf Club Earns Praise from Golfers and Critics Alike

If Winston Churchill were alive today -- and in the habit of critiquing Rochester-area golf courses -- he might have this to say about the spectacular Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor: "Never has so much praise been heaped upon a golf course so new, by so many." Ravenwood, however, has managed to attract attention from many corners of the golfing community without having to resurrect legendary British statesmen. Just beginning its third full year of operation, Ravenwood, located on Lynaugh Road just north of the village of Victor, has already garnered honors from some of the country's top golf publications. Among the many accolades the club has received to date, Ravenwood was recognized by Golf Magazine as being among the top-35 (out of 325) new courses across the country to open in 2002 and New York Golf magazine listed Ravenwood as the third-toughest daily-fee course in the state, based on slope ratings. Most recently, Golf Digest gave Ravenwood the prestigious distinction of being ranked as the fifth Best New Upscale Public Course in the country.
