Getting Involved
There are many ways to get involved in our organization! But, there's one way that you cannot get involved and that's through membership. We are not a membership organization. When the organization was founded it was decided that there would not be memberships, but rather, we would offer programs that could benefit the tourism industry of Ontario County, and not a select few who chose to pay membership. However, there are certain
cooperative programs that are offered throughout the year. These programs are "offered up" for participation on a cost sharing basis. You can get involved in the organization by being one of our cooperative partners in these programs.
You can also get involved by participating in some of our
meetings and events or educational seminars.
We also have some committees that meet to help plan special programs. As examples: our current
committee structure includes: Visitor Services and Experience Enhancement, Government Relations, Recognition and Events Committee, and Research Results committee. If you're interested in joining a committee or becoming involved in a special project, click
here to let us know!
Finally, if you are interested in helping promote all of Ontario County, assist in the development of our
strategic plan for tourism, and promote Finger Lakes
Visitors Connection's goals, you may wish to make a more in-depth commitment and be considered as a potential member of our
Board of Directors.
Our doors are open. We need varied involvement and realize that everyone has special skills they can bring to the table. If you love tourism and believe in Ontario County's tourism product, then you'll love being part of our tourism team.
