industry Reception for Barb Natale, outgoing Chairman of the
FLVC Board of Directors, recognizing her for years of
service to the tourism industry in Ontario County. |

February 6, 2006—FLVC welcomes and introduces Alexa Gifford as
the new Executive Director of the New York Wine and Culinary
Center to Board Members and community leaders. |

February 7, 2006—New York Wine and Culinary Center, what is
it? FLVC hosts an informational seminar for tourism partners
at Steamboat Landing introducing culinary tourism and staff
of NYWCC. |

February 28, 2006—Culinary Tourism is introduced at the annual
Marketing Day held at Steamboat Landing and the Ramada
Geneva Lakefront. Group tour information, the “How To’s” of
culinary tourism, package ideas and general updates were all
part of the program. |

March 2006—Nature’s Health Club billboard goes up on route 490
introducing the program to the area and sponsorship by
Preferred Care. |

9 and 10, 2006—FLVC
staff travels to Dutchess County to participate in a
Culinary Tourism seminar at the Culinary Institute of
America and make a site visit to the Mohonk Mountain House
and other area attractions. |

April 5, 2006—Mike Rusinko, new
President of FLTA and several participants at the Finger
Lakes Tourism Institute attended a Sips and Savors Reception as part
of their progressive dinner at FLVC. Regional foods
were showcased—including an Apple Sauce Bar. The
event was catered by Fiddlehead Concepts, a member of FLCB. |

April 17, 2006—TIA’s Travelcom 2006 was held in New York City
and attended by Meg and Val. The three day seminar
introduced upcoming target markets, e-marketing and SEO
suggestions through guest speakers and trade show exhibits |

May 11, 2006—"135 miles of History-Drive It" is launched
cooperatively by the
Routes 5 & 20 committee and 14 area museums located
along routes 5 & 20. The historical
exhibits will run from May to October 2006. Passports are
provided and a grand prize will be awarded in early
November. |

May 19, 2006—The Finger Lakes Region hosts “A Taste of the
Finger Lakes” in Tarrytown for travel editors and writers
from across the United States at the Travel Classics East
Conference. |

May 25,
2006—Finger
Lakes Tourism Alliance and friends wish Ann Brink a Happy
Retirement aboard the Yankee Clipper. (Pat's taking the
picture!) |

June 3-21,
2006—Finger
Lakes Visitors Connection hosted an information booth at the
2006 Homearama held off Middle Cheshire Rd in Canandaigua.
More than 22,000 people attended this year’s show and took
home travel information about the Finger Lakes area. |

June 6, 2006—FLVC, the Town and the Village of Victor co-host
a Tourism Summit at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor. Finger
Lakes Community College was also able to present information
on their new Frontline Training Program. |

June 14,
2006—The
FLVC Annual Literature Exchange is held this year at Bristol
Harbour with more than 70 participants! |

June 15, 2006—Valerie attends the press conference and grand
opening ceremony for the The Marvin Sands-Constellation
Brands C-MAC performing arts center. |

June
16, 2006—FLVC
staff attends the grand opening of the New York Wine and
Culinary Center and on Saturday the center opens to the
public. |

June 17 and 18, 2006—Melody Moser,
travel writer, spends the weekend touring around Canandaigua
Lake with Pat and Valerie. |

June 28, 2006—A press conference
announcing the release of Canandaigua Wine Trail’s new
cooking kit, Sips and Savors, was held at the NYWCC. Wine
Trail members, area media, recipe providers, and CWT
associate members attended and received complimentary books.
The Wine Trail also announced the upcoming weekend event
(July 1 and 2) promoting Sips and Savors along the wine
trail.

participate in the EXPO at ESSAE in Saratoga Springs. This
